@mpb Indeed. They are the most competent and friendly IT support group I've ever met.
-
It's decided. I'll order my iPhone today.
-
@latone Thanks. And here at ZRL we have a good plan with Swisscom that makes the monthly payments very cheap.
-
iPhone ordered. Purchasing dept says the wait for the 32GB 3GS is "at least a month". Bummer.
-
Celebrate 10 years of Moonfruit and win a MacBook Pro http://bit.ly/96bxC #moonfruit
-
I guess it's worth a shot - few contests are open worldwide #moonfruit
-
The downside of having ordered my iPhone already? The wait for it to arrive. #moonfruit
-
Wow, #moonfruit is number one trending topic on Twitter. A lot of competition for those MBPs.
-
Preparing for a virtualization class I will teach starting in September...

We should have this on the big screen during all our meetings: http://bit.ly/gC1mQ (via @rands)
-
RT @mashable Twitter Promotion Done Right: #moonfruit http://cli.gs/MDedP (via @tweetmeme)

@SifuMoraga This will be a generic virtualization class for MS students at ETH. However, I'm also co-organizing a VirtSec ZISC workshop.
-

-
Great news, new iPhone now "2-3 weeks" away. Yesterday it was "at least a month" :-)
-
RT @moontweet: Just 2 hours to go. Better dig out the pointing robot again. 1 more Mac coming up. http://bit.ly/96bxC #moonfruit
-
@SifuMoraga The chances are minimal, but they will ship anywhere in the world :-) #moonfruit
-
RT @ischi: nice site to convert all kind of files, looking for MSOffice to PDF, but this page can do much more http://www.convertfiles.com/
-
RT @moontweet: Just 60 mins to go. Who, what and where will the second winner be? http://bit.ly/96bxC #moonfruit
-
I just took the "Required For Moonfruit Free Mac Pro" quiz and got: Make sure you take this too! #moonfruit! Try it: http://bit.ly/11ToMC
-
Two consecutive UK winners in #moonfruit. Hopefully it moves to Switzerland next :-)
-
Today's try to get one of those lovely machines from #moonfruit
-
Weird weather. Big stormy clouds, but it's hot enough to have my office window open, even with the highway noise.
-
Gah - almost an hour overdue for lunch, but I'm done with my last CCSW paper fixes before submission. Now: food. Also: #moonfruit
-
#moonfruit is still top trending topic. I wonder if it will stay that way until the end?
-
Hopefully Switzerland :-) RT @moontweet: Less than 10 mins to go. Where will Macbook winner number 3 be? http://bit.ly/96bxC #moonfruit
-
I missed today's #moonfruit tweet, here's one for tomorrow :-)
-
Thinking of a #moonfruit Sundae (or is it Sunday?)

Literally falling asleep, but staying awake for one more #moonfruit
-
iPhone 3GS ETA 2-3wks. This is how I feel: http://bit.ly/b4BKr And I think this is how my wife feels: http://bit.ly/u6JHO :-) BTW #moonfruit
-
Very cool (literally) RT @mpb: "measuring from Earth the heat produced by a rabbit sitting on the Moon" http://tinyurl.com/lgkqml #moonfruit
-
@mpb Actually, looking at it, it would seem you just need to write moon - let's see #moonfruit
-
@mpb I think it's not - I didn't get any replies :-) Looking at his tweets, the ones he replied to all had just "moon" in them #moonfruit
-
Whenever I do anything with VMware Fusion, my machine slows down to unusability. Damn Windows for having to use it every once in a while.
-
Dear vmware fusion: deleting five snapshots should NOT take half an hour. #moonfruit
-
@vkoser Probably should try putting my VM in my external drive, and see if that helps.
-
RT @mpb: Last day! 4 Macbooks from 3 BST (GMT+1) http://bit.ly/96bxC #moonfruit Who will win?
-
Here's hoping for one of the last four #moonfruit MBPs... http://bit.ly/96bxC

Making appointment to renew daughter's passport - called at 13:02, service closes at 13:00. Damn.
-
OK, now going deep into video editing mode. I need to finish editing those session recordings today. #moonfruit
-
But first: caffeine. More specifically: Mate time! http://bit.ly/AOLRK #moonfruit
-
@fraserspeirs Not a chance of confusion. Here your bill would be CHF 11k
-
@fraserspeirs 11,000.00 CHF = 7,244.20 EUR Now that you say 13k, it doesn't sound that bad.
-
What a nice afternoon after a rainy day - perfect for a #moonfruit
-
Maybe one last chance before the first one? #moonfruit
-
Just discovered that Wikipedia has a tool for generating citations to a page (including BibTeX!). Very nice. Example: http://bit.ly/Necdt
-
Wow - every single trending topic right now has to do with Michael Jackson's memorial.
-
My first-ever Google Adsense payment has been issued. W00t! It only took my site 4 years to make $100 in ad revenue :-)
-
Weird. Safari was making images grayscale when scrolling. A restart fixed it.
-
@fraserspeirs I love it. KEEP BEING AWESOME!
-
@magicofpi @wpstudios For those of us who use the more logical d/m/y format, it will repeat itself next month on the 7th.
-
Made appointment to renew my daughter's passport. Always a painful experience, but couldn't postpone it any longer.
-
iMovie has some strange annoying bugs. Sometimes it automatically removes the audio of a "cutaway" clip, others it doesn't.
-
Sometimes it correctly detaches the audio from a clip, sometimes the detached audio track is silent. Arrrrrrrrgh.
-
@SifuMoraga Yes
-
@juliaroy I was surprised to see you tweeting about that. How did they get access to your twitter account?
-
Trying to install Rational Team Concert (which for Mac comes bundled with Eclipse 3.3.1) into Eclipse 3.4.2 on my Mac.

-
@bricooke That's the curse of younger siblings. But in my experience, they learn to defend themselves very quickly :-)
-
@gabvirtualworld I think it is fishing. I have never received such an email from Google, AFAIK they never delete accounts automatically.
-
@fraserspeirs That would be very cool. I'm terrible with names. Maybe it could cooperate with iPhoto faces DB.

@ids Training for a half-marathon? My wife is as well.
-
@ghostnomad Weird - I can't see it on the web site, but Tweetie still displays it correctly (I don't think it's caching it).
-
@ids My wife has signed up for one on Sept. 19th. She's also finding it quite scary at the moment. Good luck!

@davideisert I think the idea is that with @yfd you record categorical/numerical data that you can later visualize.
-
@davideisert Agree - I'm not saying I would use it :-)
-
@sophiestication Seems like I missed the sale :-( Groceries looks very very nice. Will probably buy it anyway.
-
@rodet I'd be very interested in more details about your setup. How are things integrated?
-
@rodet What's new? Looks the same to me.
-
Missed the live launch yesterday. Glad we have YouTube these days. STS-127 Launch HD: http://bit.ly/2y3FR

The Xserve CPU-load LED displays are really cool - the LEDs fade in and out. Shame no one sees them most of the time. http://bit.ly/bz7PV

Just spent an hour figuring out why my iMovie clips were all wrong on a different machine. Answer: NTSC/PAL setting. Different framerates.
-
Now: paper outline writing time.
-
Oops - all my music is on my ext disk which is now connected to a server in the server room. Glad iTunes also supports Internet radio.
-
@lulugirl896 Did you just confess to tweeting while driving?
-
@JasonWyatt I know :-)
-
@lulugirl896 Good to know (late reply, I know) :-)

40 years ago Apollo 11 landed on the moon. If you haven't yet, go look here: http://www.youtube.com/ReelNASA
-
It still amazes me that people went to the moon with technology from FORTY YEARS AGO. Awesome stuff. http://www.youtube.com/ReelNASA
-
@mattgemmell Honestly, I can't make a word of what you say, but I'm subscribed anyway. Scottish accent is hard to understand :-)
-
It would be really nice if iMovie could do batch movie exports.

So. TIRED. Youngest daughter is sick, gave me only 2 solid hours of sleep last night (3:30-5:30AM, if you are interested).
-
I need to fix the double-tweeting of my posterous entries (one from posterous, one through auto-posting on my blog, which gets tweeted).
-
I also set up my posterous with a custom domain the other day - it took all of 10 minutes. I love posterous. http://posterous.zzamboni.org/
-
@vkoser I never clicked with tumblr, although the general idea is the same. I love posting through email, makes a client unnecessary.
-
@vkoser Also, posterous adds features all the time. Look here: http://blog.posterous.com/ e.g. embedding of Gmaps, Github Gists, etc.
-
@lacker Indeed. There seems to be no way of disabling auto-tweeting without deleting the Twitter account from posterous.
-
@nazgul Have you looked at The Hit List? I switched from Things, for reasons including saved searches, tabs and very nice keyboard shortcuts
-
@nazgul In case you want to give it a try with the same data: http://zzamboni.github.com/things2thl/

-
Shipment for @vkoser: http://post.ly/1XRW Goes out tomorrow :-)
-
@vkoser It's the same one, for a moment it appeared separate because I had deleted my Twitter account from Posterous, but now it's fixed.
-
@vkoser If you don't have your Twitter account in Posterous, Tweetie creates a new posterous blog, but you can always claim it later.
-
@vkoser Hate that. Looking at you screenshot: what other Twitter accounts do you run?
-
@vkoser I know, I find it annoying. I haven't been able to find how to sign off from that web site so it stops retweeting me.
-
@segdeha http://twitter.com/gramicci ? First hit on http://bit.ly/1o8HFT
-
@segdeha Everyone asks if you are related to the company (I'm not). But other than that, it's a cool last name :-)
-
@segdeha Awesome effect in your web site BTW. I thought I was hallucinating at first.
-
I just unfollowed @ibmers. Too annoying. Anyone know how "sign off" so it stops retweeting me?
-
@AlecMuffett How very odd. Even more so the comments "well done nice video!"
-
Wondering if my iPhone will finally arrive this week.
-
Just got my new office chair - no armrests, as prescribed to help my posture.
-
@MrRooni Weird. My first thought was that you had rot13'd your code, but it doesn't match :-)
-
This is actually kind of cool: http://twistory.net/user/zzamboni (via @juliaroy)

Designing new personal business cards, wondering whether to include my phone numbers, or just web/email/twitter, etc. Thoughts? #lazytwitter
-
@DocDamo Or better yet, "If you need me, I will find you" :-)
-
@mckeay Agree. Prob is I will change phone # soon (getting a new iPhone in the next few days) but I need to order cards now for a meeting.
-
@djlemur I think (not completely sure) that Skim allows you to save them.

@davideisert Big advantage: ease and low cost of cloning/snapshotting/creating/restoring VMs for continued operation.
-
@davideisert If you don't plan correctly, you could end up with your redundant VM servers running on the same physical hardware :-)
-
RT @patkiernan: Texting and driving isn't just a little bit dangerous. NY Times reports it's 23 TIMES more dangerous. http://bit.ly/carTEXt
-
@davideisert @vkoser We were talking about this the other day: http://bit.ly/carTEXt "texting is in its own universe of risk"
-
@triki_bert I prefer Tweetie myself. Nambu.com doesn't look very "ace" at the moment ;-) "Oops ... Sorry! nambu.com is currently overloaded"

@KGranson Not sure at all - just quoting @PurdueAlumni
-
@PurdueAlumni I guess that could be the address of the whole Chauncey Hill Mall, right?
-
@vkoser I really liked it - yummy unhealthy food. And I did get to order the "Roadkill Fries Deluxe" that one time, you were there too :-)
-
I just got a really well done spam message. I actually read all of it trying to find where the advertisement was (not immediately apparent).
-
Very nice - I wish more publishers allowed authors to do this RT @chacon: Just put my CC licensed Apress Git book online: http://progit.org
-
@chacon Congrats on publishing @progitbook, I'd be curious on how hard it was to convince Apress to allow you to CC license it
-
@Shrdlu Congrats to him! Funny how perspective changes. I used to think 5yo was very young, now I think "what a big boy" (my oldest being 3)
-
Doing app cleanup - I have removed about 10 Twitter clients I tried at some point but never used again. Left: Tweetie, Syrinx and MoodBlast
-
Wow, my (former) Perlmonks pw is actually there in #zf05
-
@tarasis That does sound suspicious. Better call to check.
-
@theinternetchap Most apps have "Paste and Match Style" (sometimes called "Paste unformatted") in the Edit menu, which mostly does that.
-
@funkatron I'd be interested in recommendations you get. About to get my new iPhone :-)

Oh boy, will you look at the time (2:45 AM). Time to sleep.

I've received an invitation to Google Voice. Too bad I don't live in the US :-(
-
@davideisert WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP TEXTING WHILE DRIVING?!?!?!?!?!?!
-
Damn. I just learned that, due to human error, the order for my iPhone had not been placed yet. GRRRRRRRRRRR.
-
@overheardatmoo Cards received. Very, VERY nice.
-
I really need to get some coffee and then get coding.
-
Really sad about this iPhone thing. I've been waiting 4 out of "4-5 weeks delivery time", only to learn it hadn't been ordered at all. GRRRR

@fraserspeirs Automate. Bash script to detect when it's mounted, unmount, reformat, eject, repeat. Then you just have to swap the keys.
