radio SAW – Superhits für Sachsen-Anhalt: “Schnappi, the little crocodile” is all the rage these days in the German-speaking music world. It’s a kids song, but I just saw it’s #1 in the MTV German top-10 list. And in this page, they got a bunch of people, from the Smurfs to Gerhard Schröder, to sing their versions of it. Very funny :-) (0)

CopperExport 0.2.1 – security fix

February 24th, 2005 · No Comments

It is very embarrassing, but in the patch to the xp\_publish.php file shipped with CopperExport 0.1 and 0.2, I had introduced a security vulnerability that would allow for SQL injection attacks against the gallery. I have released CopperExport 0.2.1. The plugin itself has not changed (except for some additional error reporting), but it is extremely [...]

XEmacs on MacOS X

February 22nd, 2005 · No Comments

XEmacs has now been ported to Carbon. Downloaded and compiled without a problem, I’m just starting to test it. I’ve used XEmacs for a long time on Solaris and Linux, it’s good to have it on MacOSX as well. Good stuff. I’m not too fond of the icon, though.

New “Linky” category

February 19th, 2005 · 2 Comments

I have created a new category called “Linky” for quick links to interesting things on the web. I have implemented it using Matt’s “asides”, following the excellent instructions put together by Fernando_Graphicos, and modified the style to mark them with a nice icon from the Nuvola icon set by David Vignoni. You can see them [...]

As I’m getting more comfortable with WordPress, I’m exploring some of the available plugins, themes, etc. It’s tons of fun! So if you visit and things are broken, it’s just me playing with things. Maybe it’ll stabilize after a while

Progress report on CopperExport 0.3

February 13th, 2005 · 1 Comment

I’ve been working on some updates for the next version of CopperExport. Here’s my current list of possible improvements:
- (partially done) Populate thumbnail list “live”, after displaying the export dialog.
- Offer some preset options for resizing (640×480, 800×600, 1024×768) (suggested by Peter Polz)
- (done) In the description of a new album, be able to enter [...]

43 Folders: Quicksilver

February 6th, 2005 · No Comments

I’m a freak for neat tools and tricks, and one of them is launchers on the Mac. A long time ago I used (and even bought) LaunchBar, then discovered Butler, and had been very happy with it. Then, recently, through 43 Folders, I rediscovered QuickSilver, which I tried some time ago, but was still too [...]

CopperExport hosting moved to BerliOS

February 5th, 2005 · No Comments

After having used CVS for source code management for a long time, I recently started using Subversion, and like it a lot, I think I’m switching to it for good. So of course, CopperExport is kept on Subversion, and only after creating the project at Sourceforge I realized that they still do not provide Subversion [...]
